Q: How do I know which duration of cover is right for me?

When calculating the duration of travel insurance cover that you need you must include the day that you depart and the day you return. In the most cases however, TOURMED can normally extend policies for people who decide to stay abroad for longer than they originally intended. Simply contact TOURMED at Membership Services Department info@sa-tourmed.com with your request.

Q: I am already abroad. Am I able to book TOURMED coverage?

Yes, you can provided you are not yet in Southern Africa. When and Wherever you are in the rest of the world, you can buy TOURMED coverage at the Traveler Section on the SA-TOURMED-website. You are able to process and receive your policy within 5 minutes.

Q: What are my payment options?

Q: May I purchase TOURMED coverage up to my date of departure?

Yes, you may purchase your Tourmed Policy on the day of your departure provided it is prior to you departing.

Q: Can anyone, from any country purchase TOURMED?

Yes, provided they are not residents of one of the countries for which TOURMED provides cover.

Q: Can I purchase TOURMED for my friend, relative or employee online?

Yes, you can do this as long as you can complete the application form and make the payment

Q: If I change my mind after purchasing TOURMED, is it refundable?

75% of the premium paid is refundable, simply follow the instructions in the policy conditions in this regard.

Q: What paperwork should I take for TOURMED when I travel?

You will need a copy of your passport, your policy certificate which you are able to print from the TOURMED website whenever you need. Also take along any documentation that may relate to your health at present or to any medication that you may currently be taking.

Q: I am leaving today, can I still buy TOURMED coverage?

Yes, if you are buying TOURMED, you can purchase now. You then receive your Insurance Certificate with a policy number, which you can also print, once your payment has been accepted.

Q: Is Using a Credit Card online safe?

Yes, buying online is the safest use of your credit card – much safer than using it in a restaurant or store.
